Donnie has extensive IP litigation and enforcement experience in China. As a former prosecutor, he is an expert in criminal prosecution. He is a PRC licensed lawyer at Lusheng Law Firm, Rouse's associated firm in China.
Donnie has been practicing since 2003 and is experienced in advising clients on IP protection in China, including criminal prosecution, civil litigation and administrative enforcement. He is well versed in investigating and prosecuting cases concerning corruption and bribery.
As a former prosecutor with a procuratorial career of nearly 7 years, Donnie is an expert in criminal practice. Donnie and his team have handled a large amount of criminal cases for a wide range of clients, which include many high profile cases, such as the first batch of cases in China re certification mark infringement, a precedent case in cognizing ‘identical goods’ and some trade secret infringement cases. As a proficient lawyer in the field, he has worked with a research group from Beijing Normal University, headed by Professor ZHAO Bingzhi, advising on legislation for PRC Criminal Law regarding IP crime.
The criminal and civil cases handled by Donnie and his team have been highly recognized and awarded with various honours. Recent awards include QBPC Yearly Best Practice in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, Model Court Case by China IP Magazine in 2014, Top 10 Model Cases of Shanghai by Shanghai IP Protection Joint Office in 2013, and Top 10 Model IP Cases of Shenzhen by Shenzhen Court in 2013.
