Published on 01 Nov 2019 | 1 minute read

Taking place in Mombasa, Kenya

In September 2019, Carole Theuri travelled to Mombasa, Kenya to participate on behalf of a client in an Intellectual Property Rights enforcement training organised by US Homeland Security.

The workshop was attended by representatives from various government agencies in East Africa that assist with the enforcement of IP rights such as the Revenue Authorities, Anti Counterfeit Authorities and Ethics and Anti-corruption Authorities. The training was well attended with approximately 36 participants from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and the Seychelles. The event was a great success with enforcement agents taking away some key lessons on product identification, risk profiling and building a case, and tips on relationship building with rights holders.
