Rouse boosts global patent offer with new strategy role hire in China

Rouse has signaled further growth in its global IP offer with the addition of Tim Jackson as the firm’s Head of Patent Strategy and Development.

In a newly created role based between Shanghai and Beijing, Jackson will work closely with Linda Chang, Head of Rouse operations in China, in further developing the consultancy’s market-leading offer in the patent space.

A registered patent attorney and lawyer in New Zealand and Australia, he will be tasked with boosting Rouse’ business development in the patent space, as well as identifying new methods of further improving delivery of Rouse’ integrated patent strategy, prosecution and litigation operations.

A partner and experienced litigator at Baldwins since 2001 prior to joining Rouse, Jackson led the firm’s chemical and biochemical patent teams, advising on numerous complex matters within the pharmaceutical, veterinary medicine, chemical and mechanical field. As partner, he represented clients before the Privy Council, then New Zealand’s highest court, as well as the New Zealand Supreme Court. Beyond his patent experience, he has also advised on trade mark, copyright, Free Trading Act 1986, passing off, confidential information and trade secret rights.
